Matthew S. Naylor
Founder & CEO
Matthew is the founder and is responsible for Crumdale’s creative vision and strategy. He founded the company on a true entrepreneurial spirit with institutional governance which focuses on collaboration and alignment of interests. He has extensive experience in employee benefits, risk management, retail/wholesale brokerage, and advisory services, as well as related mergers and acquisitions.
Matthew uses his deep industry expertise, relationships and expertise to ensure Crumdale delivers exceptional products and services to its clients while continuing to build Crumdale’s capabilities organically and through acquisition. Matthew has repeatedly grown multiple industry-related businesses into strong, sustainable entities.
He began his career in 1995 when he joined Elite, a national insurance agency with a focus on consulting, risk management, brokerage and underwriting services. In 2015 he sold the business to Houston International Insurance Group and became the CEO and President of their Accident and Health Division. Matthew is also a partner and investor in Leverage Health Solutions, an advisory firm to innovative companies in the payer and provider markets which has generated hundreds of millions in valuation growth for its clients.
In addition, Matthew was a founding investor in the technology firm Health Insurance Innovations (HIIQ), a developer of affordable web-based individual insurance plans. He received a Bachelor of Science from Drexel University in 1995 and serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Drexel University and Chairman of the Board of Trustees for AIM Academy.
Matthew has served on public, private, and non-profit boards. Matthew is active in the Young President’s Organization and a member of YPO International. He is involved with industry associations, including the Self-Insured Institute of America (SIIA), the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers (CIAB), the Society of Professional Benefits Administrators (SPBA) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Brian J. McTear
President (Crumdale Group Holdings)
Brian was previously Senior Vice President at Preferred Sands, a provider of silica sand and technology products to the oil and gas industry, where he was a member of the senior leadership team and had responsibility for new product development, corporate development and legal matters.
Brian was previously a Partner at Blank Rome, LLP, where he advised public and private companies as well as private equity firms and their portfolio companies on sophisticated business, corporate, and transactional matters. Brian earned a B.S. in Psychology at Ursinus College and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Widener University School of Law, where he was editor-in-chief of the law review.
He has served as a guest lecturer at Temple University and Drexel University on entrepreneurism, has numerous legal publications, and was named to SmartCEO Magazine’s Legal Elite list and recognized as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine. Brian is a member of the Malvern Preparatory School Board of Trustees and is the past Chair of the Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation.
Jake Willcox
President (TRx)
Jake joined Crumdale Partners in 2014 as an Executive Vice President in charge of Sales and Vendor and Client Relations for Crumdale’s wholesale business. Previously, Jake was a Sales and Business Development Vice President at The Pension Company from 2008-2011, structuring annuities for claimants of large personal injury lawsuits.
Jake also founded Legaltronix, an online cloud-based resource for claims adjusters and lawyers to rate, review, and schedule mediations. He raised capital, ran the company, and developed relationships with 10 large national insurance carriers. Jake earned a B.A. in Business Administration from Loyola University.

Joseph C. Sweeney

He has also been involved in numerous acquisitions and divestitures in the insurance space. He prides himself on not only being a part of teams that buy and sell businesses but helping to position those businesses to grow and operate efficiently. Joe earned his B.S. in Accounting from The Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from Temple University. He is also a licensed CPA in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Robert S. Adams
CFO
Rob is the Founding Partner of NextStage Capital, a seed and early-stage venture fund, where he built a portfolio of sixteen technology investments with both equity and debt capital. Before that, he was a Principal and Vice President of Safeguard Scientifics, where he was instrumental in developing numerous technology companies from early-stage through public entity. While there, he sourced, structured, and negotiated over $100M in investments and $380M in mergers, acquisitions, and exits.
Rob began his career in the Entrepreneurial Services division of Ernst & Young. He earned an MBA with distinction from the University of Michigan and a BA in Economics from Skidmore College. Rob is a licensed CPA.
He has also been involved in numerous acquisitions and divestitures in the insurance space. Christopher McHugh
SVP – Corporate Development
Prior to joining Crumdale Partners, Chris spent 26 years and was a co-founder of Turner Investment Partners. He served as the Lead Portfolio Manager for the Turner Midcap Growth Fund and the Turner Concentrated Global strategy. In addition to his portfolio management role, Chris was a lead technology analyst across all of Turner’s portfolio of products. As a seasoned technology analyst, Chris invested and analyzed both private and listed equities, especially in the growth-oriented small and midcap universe. Chris was instrumental in the development of new products and fund structures for the organization as they expanded into new markets.
Chris earned his B.S. in Accounting and Finance at Thomas Jefferson University and received his MBA from St. Joseph’s University.
